Legal Commission

The spheres of the Commission’s activity include:

• Working out the city’s positions on the draft legislation related to the organization of local government, the administrative division of state territory, and other local government issues;
• Working out draft legislation related to local government;
• Providing opinions on the drafts of Tallinn legislation set to it for review;
• Control of implementation of the regulations and resolutions of the City Council;
• Making proposals about the list of basic questions to be discussed at City Council sessions and, if necessary, the preparation of the city budget and draft budget.

The Commission has the right to introduce drafts for resolutions and regulations.

Material for review is sent to the Commission by the City Council and the Chairman of the City Council.
