Auditing Commission

The Commission audits the following according to the procedures prescribed by law:

  • The compliance of the City Government’s activities with the regulations and resolutions of the City Council;
  • The timely recovery and entry into inventory of income and the compliance of expenses with the city budget;
  • The correctness of the bookkeeping in the city’s administrative agencies and their subordinate agencies, and the purposeful use of the city’s assets;
  • The fulfilment of agreements signed by the city;
  • upon the order of the City Council, the legality and purposefulness of the activities of the City Government and the city’s administrative agencies.
  • The Commission clarifies the problems of city life that need to be solved by the local government and makes proposals for their solution and works out plans of action;
  • The Commission provides opinions on the drafts of Tallinn legislation set to it for review;
  • The Commission makes proposals about the preparation of the city budget and draft budget;
  • Before the confirmation of the fulfilment of the city’s budget, the Commission must report on the results of it work to the City Council and submit its remarks and proposals for eliminating shortcomings;
  • The Commission has the right to introduce drafts for resolutions and regulations.
